Jubilo Iwata 1-0 Yokohama F. Marinos – April 21st

Jubilo went down in the Shizuoka Derby last weekend but came back today to beat a struggling Marinos with a single goal ten minutes before half time – a wonder strike from Hiroki Yamada, who blasted a long distance shot into the top corner after jinking on and out of three defenders on the left wing. Marinos came close to an equaliser as Iwata’s second string keeper, Naoki Hatta, in for the long-term injured Kawaguchi flailed at a right wing cross and was beaten by Oguro but the ball flew just wide of the far post. The keeper was in trouble again from a Nakamura corner but Kurihara’s header was cleared off the line. Later Saito had a goal disallowed for offside too, and the points went to Jubilo!
