THe Emperor’s Cup is always played at pre-designated grounds, and the draw is pre-determined (so you CAN plan ahead and know where your J.League team will play, if not the opposition). This gives various areas of the country a chance to see other big teams, while leaving the chance of, for example, Gamba Osaka playing a semi-final at “home” on Cerezo’s ground!
