Gamba March On!

… after taking out Cerezo last week, they put paid to Kawasaki’s title hope this, with a vital away win. Antlers draw, Cerezo draw …. Shimizu thrashed, but it was by Nagoya who stretch their lead at the top …. a Grampus implosion is due, though …. it’s Gamba’s, or Antlers’ title!?

J1 Table

Tighter at the top as Nagoya and Cerezo drop points … Gamba and Frontale win to close in a little. At the bottom … well, looks like Kyoto and Bellmare are gone with any one of Vissel (fired coach), FC Tokyo (fired coach), Omiya, Sendai and Montedio. Jubilo are not out of it yet, either! And REDS are only TWO points ahead of Jubilo …. plenty left in at the top AND the bottom.

22 games gone …. getting close on the ACL places …. Nagoya still clear at the top, though.

Cerezo held but hold on to 2nd, Nagoya win to stretch their lead at the top.Marinos take out Frontale to join in the hunt for a top three finish. Kashima and Gamba win well to pressure the top three, also. Getting tight in the top half.Omiya and Jubilo win to pull clear at the bottom. Kyoto beat Vissel (who ended with nine men) to drag them into the mire. Kyoto (and Yamagata) still look J2-bound, though. FC Tokyo beaten by a resurgent (?) Reds to stay in trouble, also.

Saturday results and table, Sunday games to come …
