At JSoccer.com and JSoccer Magazine we aim to give some much needed exposure to Japanese football. There is plenty to discover and celebrate within it although the structure of the J.League itself is again in a state of flux and its format is under discussion to see it revert back to a two stage system for the 2015 season. However average attendance has increased over the last decade and football has never been so popular in Japan.
With the emergence of players like Shinji Kagawa and Keisuke Honda, Japanese football has their first truly global soccer stars since Hidetoshi Nakata. There are also plenty of other players currently plying their trade in Europe, particularly in the Bundesliga, which, for many demonstrates a steady improvement in the quality of Japanese players.
The 2014 World Cup in Brazil will have been the Samurai Blue's 5th World Cup tournament in a row and, according to this online football betting site, were predicted to fare better than other talented teams like Croatia, Mexico and Ivory Coast. Oh well!
