JFA pull Ladies team from North American tour |
| .. and they've banned pet pigs, too!? The virus is everywhere, this won't stop anything happening - let's take life as normal, eh? | ||
Vissel Kobe 2-2 Nagoya Grampus |
| Nagoya scrape lucky draw against rampant Vissel (or something like that!!) | ||
Vissel Kobe 3-1 Gamba Osaka |
| Vissel shock their neighbours in Kansai Derby | ||
Ken at Rising Sun News hits the nail on the head! |
Rising Sun News I hope Ken allows me to leave this on here as it is a wonderful piece of work - it really does sum up the problems with (most) Asian football teams AND one of the main problems holding back Japan - enjoy (and thanks again to Ken). |

Plus ca change..... |
Just to let you know that nothing's changed - either in my view that too many foreigners (especially strikers) are taking the place of Japanese players, or that those strikers are getting all the goals (hence depriving the national team of chances to blood new forwards!).... the top scorers after ten games in the J.League Div.1.... PEDRO JUNIOR Albirex Niigata 7 GILSINHO Jubilo Iwata 7 DAVI Nagoya Grampus 7 LEANDRO Gamba Osaka 7 LEE Keun Ho Jubilo Iwata 6 CHO Jae Jin Gamba Osaka 6 Um, spot the Japanese! No change there! |
Gamba take it easy in IndonEASYa! |
| Sriwajaya FC 0-3 Gamba Osaka | ||
Vissel Kobe 3-2 Oita Trinita |
| Vissel bounce back from thrashing! | ||
Omiya Ardija 3-2 Gamba Osaka |
| It's a funny old game.... Gamba had what seemed like 80% possession, about 30 shots on goal, while Omiya got a couple of breakaways, took advantage of a couple of mistakes and came away with three goals and three points! | ||
Yokohama F Marinos 5-0 Vissel Kobe |
| The view from behind Crimson-coloured specs, for sure, but still worrying what an early bad decision by referee can do to a game! | ||
Five games gone and new faces at the top, well near the top! |
| Montedio and Albirex have had pleasantly good starts, although with their win today Kashima are the team on top! not looking good for Jubilo or JEF so far, while Vissel don't have much to cheer about, either! | ||
Gamba Osaka 5 - 0 Sriwijaya FC |
| Gamba efficiently dispatched the Indonesian opposition in their 3rd ACL game on Wednesday... | ||
J.League Opening Day - shocks! |
Saturday's opening day games saw FOUR away wins, three of them - Yamagata, Hiroshima and Niigata - could definitely be called shocks. The other, Gamba's destruction of JEF, probably expected..... SIX away goals for Montedio must be the performance, and shock of the day! More games on Sunday... Yokohama F Marinos 2-4 Sanfrecce Hiroshima (Nissan 23,601) F.C.Tokyo 1-4 Albirex Niigata (Ajinomoto 27,568) Nagoya Grampus 3-2 Oita Trinita (Toyota 25,395) JEF United Chiba 0-3 Gamba Osaka (Fukuda 17,916) Kashima Antlers 2-0 Urawa Reds (Kashima 37,878) Kawasaki Frontale 1-1 Kashiwa Reysol (Todoroki 17,841) Jubilo Iwata 2-6 Montedio Yamagata (Yamaha 12,141) |

TV coverage - pathetically uncontroversial as always? |
| Just a quickie... have just seen the replay of Koroki's goal... finally we got the correct angle to see if it was offside.... but, UNBELIEVABLE, it was such a close up so that you could not see the other players in the frame - to me that proves it WAS offside and the TV coverage intentionally did that! PATHETIC - time to do something about this - watch this space. If anyone out there has a recording of that first goal, feel free to let me know and send it to me! | ||
Xerox 2nd half - same as the first? Doubtful! |
Here we go, the 2nd half as it happens... By the way, Antlers started with (4-4-2): Sogohata in goal, Uchida, Inoha, Iwamasa, Araiba across the back. Motoyama (no, really!), Aoki, Danilo and Nozawa in the middle. Koroki and Marquinhos up front. |
Yes, 2nd viewing, Kashima's 1st goal offside! |
| Now, it's not that it was offside that worries me, everyone makes mistakes! What really irritates me is that the commentary team do not even consider it worth a look and, I believe it's not because they're not allowed to diss the referees on air (which IS true) but that they haven't even considered the possibility because the y DON'T KNOW THE RULES!! Sad! Last year's Xerox Super Cup was a copy (!!) of this one... mistakes being glossed over - hope this is not a similar game and another year of ignorance in the J.League! | ||
