Full J.League Results for the past weekend ....

J1 - Saturday 28th Sept. (in order of kick off times)

Vegalta Sendai 0-0 Yokohama F•Marinos

With Saito and Marquinhos out, Marinos struggled to break down a crowded home defence and neither team seemed to have a shot on target until Wilson forced a save from the away keeper in additonal time! A borefest indeed!

Kashiwa Reysol 1-1 Albirex Niigata

While season ace Kawamata scored for Albirex - who have been on a decent run, Reysol may well have had their minds on how the **** they are going to claw back the deficit in their AFC ACL semi-final in China on Wednesday!

Shimizu S-Pulse 2-1 Ventforet Kofu

Patrick scored a very early goal for the visitors (and had a second chalked off for offside in the second half), while Genki Omae continued his heroic return to the team with another two goals as one of the in-form teams of the moment grabbed another three points.

Sagan Tosu 0-2 Sanfrecce Hiroshima

Tosu's recent decent (poetry there?) run has now tailed off but they are well clear of the bottom three ... but perhaps not yet comfortable. Sanfrecce kept the pressure on F•Marinos at the top and are looking confident and relaxed in the run-in.

Kashima Antlers 3-1 Oita Trinita

Oita took the lead through Deka-Morishima early in the second half after a stalemate first period, but was there even going to be any other result than an Antlers win? Endo grabbed a quick brace and Who-Ate-All-the-Pies Davi got a late third goal to seal the points.

Shonan Bellmare 2-2 Urawa Reds

Makino opened the scoring early on but Wellington equalised with a PK before a super header from Endo and it looked as if Bellmare might hold on until Kashiwagi popped in the winner after Reds finally put a decent passing move together in additional time. Jubilo fans heaved a tiny sigh of relief, perhaps? Kofu fans more so!

Cerezo Osaka 2-0 Jubilo Iwata

Kakitani magic broke the deadlock, Yamashita added a second and Jubilo sank closer to J2 while the sometimes great to watch, but SO inconsistent Cerezo edge toward an ACL spot, or, dare I say it the top?! No, I dare not say that!

Omiya Ardija 2-5 F.C.Tokyo

LUCAS! Hat trick! Three points! FC Tokyo hit 5th - level on points and goal difference with Cerezo while Ardija continued the collapse that I predicted in that J-Talk Podcast all those weeks ago. (There is no joy in that, for me, just a little satisfaction that I saw it coming!) And ... Sota Hirayama scored again - is he on the way back?

Nagoya Grampus 1-2 Kawasaki Frontale

Yoshito Okubo took the ball near the half way line, advanced, twisted, turned, left Tulio on his backside and blasted a left footer into the net just after the half hour to five Frontale the lead.... Moriya got the second and Frontale were coasting. NOT! Hayuma Tanaka grabbed a goal in additional time and GRampus' fans got their hopes up but, the game re-started and the whistle sounded. Frontale keep their ACL hopes alive, Okubo stays top of the pops!
